The role
Goodwin is seeking a mid-level associate with 3-4 years of experience to join its Life Sciences group in Los Angeles. The role focuses on intellectual property licensing, technology transfer, and supporting corporate transactions within the life sciences sector.
What you'll do
- Draft and negotiate intellectual property licenses
- Draft and negotiate joint development, collaboration, and other strategic alliance agreements
- Draft and negotiate technology licenses and services agreements
- Draft and negotiate distribution agreements
- Perform intellectual property and technology transaction due diligence for corporate transactions
- Perform intellectual property and technology transaction due diligence for technology transfers
- Provide IP support for corporate transactions in the life sciences arena
What we're looking for
3-4 years of experience
Experience in intellectual property licensing, technology transfer, and other technology transactions
Experience in IP support (including intellectual property and technology transaction due diligence) of corporate transactions in the life sciences arena
Experience in drafting and negotiating intellectual property licenses
Experience in joint development, collaboration, and other strategic alliance agreements
Experience in technology licenses and services agreements
Experience in distribution agreements
Experience performing intellectual property and technology transaction due diligence for corporate transactions and technology transfers
Experience working in teams
Experience managing substantial components of transactions independently
Outstanding academic credentials
Comparable law firm experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Relevant bar admission (or eligibility to obtain admission promptly)
Experience in adjacent fields will be considered· nice to have
