The role
McInnes Cooper is seeking a Litigation Lawyer with 4-7 years of PQE to join their Saint John office. This role will focus on managing diverse litigation matters for clients across various industries, appearing in courts and tribunals.
What you'll do
- Manage your own files while collaborating with colleagues on complex legal matters
- Provide legal services across a wide array of areas, such as general/civil litigation, commercial litigation, estate litigation, insurance defense, and construction/engineering litigation
- Conduct legal research, provide legal opinions, and maintain up-to-date knowledge on relevant legal developments
- Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel to ensure successful outcomes
- Represent clients in court, at hearings, and in negotiations
What we're looking for
Minimum of 4 to 7 years of litigation experience
Experience in general/civil litigation, commercial litigation, estate litigation, insurance defense, or construction/engineering litigation
Strong analytical, organizational and leadership skills
Exceptional client-focused approach with effective interpersonal and communication abilities
Ability to leverage technological skills and established procedures and processes
Proven ability to manage time efficiently and handle multiple files
Strong drive to succeed in a fast-paced and client-focused environment
