Associate, Employment & Labour

The role

Blake, Cassels & Graydon is seeking an Associate for its Employment & Labour group in Calgary. This role is for an individual with 2-4 years of experience in employment and labour law.

What you'll do

• Provide strategic advice to a wide variety of private- and public-sector clients
• Advise on hiring, employee relations, employment standards, outsourcing arrangements and employment terminations
• Advise on compliance with Canadian privacy law
• Advise on creating, revising, implementing and enforcing personnel and other workplace policies
• Provide manager training programs
• Provide strategic guidance to ensure Canadian business operations are equipped to respond effectively to union-organizing drives and certification applications
• Represent clients in employment litigation, including enforcement of non-competition and trade secrets agreements, wrongful dismissal litigation and related mediation processes
