Real Estate Associate Embedded in Finance, NQ - 3PQE, Leeds

The role

An Associate solicitor with 0-3 PQE is sought to join Addleshaw Goddard's Leeds team within the Finance and Real Estate practice areas. This role focuses on complex, high-value real estate transactions primarily for funders in the social housing sector.

What you'll do

• Carry out real estate due diligence on large property portfolios
• Prepare and review NHF social housing certificates of title and CLLS certificates of title
• Review, analyse and report on title documentation, leases, easements, restrictions, charges etc affecting security
• Identify and clearly articulate title and other issues, and propose practical, commercial solutions and risk mitigants for funders and borrowers
• Assist on complex multi funder and multi tranche transactions in excess of £1bn+
• Coordinate real estate due diligence and reporting requirements across multiple funders
• Manage and reconcile differing funder requirements and funder specific conditions precedent
• Support senior fee earners and ensure consistency with property and security documents
• Act for a broad range of predominantly funder side clients
• Build long term working relationships with in house legal teams and deal/relationship teams
• Understand and apply funder risk appetites, internal policies and credit requirements to the structuring and documentation of transactions
• Draft and negotiate security and transaction documents, including legal charges, security trust deeds, accession deeds, and conditions precedent/conditions subsequent relating to property and security matters
• Review and report on real estate documentation, including leases, agreements for lease, nominations agreements and management agreements
• Review and report on development agreements, option agreements, overage arrangements and joint venture documentation
• Prepare clear, concise and commercially focused reports on title issues and risk levels for funders
• Manage the real estate workstream on transactions
• Coordinate the collection and delivery of property related conditions precedent and due diligence
• Maintain and update CP checklists and transaction trackers
• Liaise with borrowers' solicitors, clients and other advisers to progress and close transactions efficiently
• Get involved in product development and government / regulatory engagement in relation to policy shifts
