The role
Clifford Chance is seeking an Asset Finance Associate Attorney with 3+ years of experience to join their Debt Finance Group in New York. This role focuses on advising clients on a variety of asset finance transactions across multiple sectors.
What you'll do
- Advise lessors, financiers, banks, funds, manufacturers, operators and investors on asset finance across aviation, shipping, rail and other movable, high-value assets
- Advise on secured lending, operating and finance leases, sale and leaseback, export credit and other structured financings
- Structure, security and enforcement, documentation, closings, portfolio acquisitions and disposals, and restructurings
What we're looking for
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited U.S. law school, or a foreign law degree with a U.S. LL.M. from an accredited law school
High academic achievement
Meaningful experience advising lenders, lessors, investors, underwriters, or sponsors on cross-border asset finance transactions
Substantial experience in aviation and other transportation finance, including aircraft and high‑value equipment financings
Experience with a broad range of transaction types, including operating and finance leases, secured lending, leveraged leasing, portfolio acquisitions and dispositions, restructurings, and asset-backed or structured finance transactions (including EETCs)
Familiarity with export credit agency (ECA)-supported financings, ABS, and other innovative or complex financing structures
Strong drafting, negotiation, and project-management skills
Entrepreneurial mindset, strong client-service orientation, and ability to work effectively in team-based, cross-border matters
At least 3 years of experience at a peer Am Law or international law firm
Admission to the New York bar
Benefits
Salary range for this role is $260,000-$390,000
