The role

MinterEllisonRuddWatts is seeking a Senior Solicitor/Senior Associate for their Banking & Financial Services team in Wellington, New Zealand. This role is for an experienced finance and regulatory lawyer with 5+ years of PQE who will advise major financial institutions and public sector organisations on complex transactions and regulatory matters.

Work closely with experienced partners and clients
Develop your own profile within the market
Contribute to the continued success of a highly respected practice

What we're looking for

At least five years' experience in banking and financial services law

Experience gained in a leading law firm, financial institution, or a smaller practice

Experience advising on financial services regulatory matters

Confident navigating complex regulatory frameworks, including within the public sector environment

Strong legal and commercial judgement

Practical approach to problem-solving

Genuine interest in understanding client organisations

Ability to work collaboratively

Strong academics

Excellent communication skills

Commitment to delivering outstanding client service

Legally entitled to work in New Zealand

Mentoring junior lawyers· nice to have

Playing an active role in building client relationships and supporting business development initiatives· nice to have
