The role
MinterEllisonRuddWatts is seeking a Senior Solicitor or Senior Associate with 5+ years of PQE to join their Public Law, Regulatory, and International Trade team in Auckland. This role is for an experienced lawyer looking to advise leading New Zealand and international clients on complex regulatory, public law, and trade matters.
What you'll do
- Advise leading New Zealand and international clients on complex regulatory, public law and trade matters
- Work on regulatory and enforcement investigations
- Advise on government decision-making, sanctions, export controls, compliance and risk management
- Engage strategically with government
- Work closely with senior decision-makers across government and industry
What we're looking for
At least 5 years' PQE in public law, regulatory law, commercial litigation, investigations, trade law, competition law, white-collar crime or a related area
Most recent experience reflects the particular mix of work undertaken by our team with the vast majority of that being commercial work for private sector clients
Strong analytical, drafting and communication skills
A commercial approach to solving client problems
A keen interest in regulation, government decision-making and international trade
Experience in sanctions, export controls, compliance or complex cross-border regulatory matters· nice to have
