Solicitor – Litigation and Local Government at Cooney Lees Morgan

The role

Cooney Lees Morgan is seeking a Solicitor with 2+ years of PQE in Litigation and Local Government to join their Tauranga team. This role focuses on resource management, local government advice, and exposure to civil litigation.

What you'll do

Advise clients on planning and environmental matters
Advise clients on consent processes
Advise clients on local authority requirements
Involvement in Environment Court matters
Exposure to a wide range of civil litigation

What we're looking for

NZ admitted solicitor with at least 2 years’ PQE

Excellent research and opinion-writing skills with attention to detail

A pragmatic problem solver and logical thinker with a solution-focused approach to providing advice

An understanding of the importance of client relationships

A strength for networking with clients and potential referrers

Experience in resource management, local government or regulatory prosecutions would be advantageous· nice to have

Advocacy experience at Council level and in the Environment Court· nice to have
