Senior Associate at Anthony Harper

The role

Anthony Harper is seeking a Senior Associate for its Litigation practice in Auckland, New Zealand. This role is for an experienced lawyer with 8+ years of PQE to advise clients on complex commercial disputes and public law matters.

What you'll do

Advise on complex commercial disputes across a broad range of matters including contractual disputes, insolvency issues, breach of trust claims, cross border disputes and urgent applications for relief
Represent clients in public law disputes, regulatory matters and company governance conflicts
Manage files from an early stage through to resolution
Undertake legal research
Prepare pleadings and court documentation
Manage discovery processes
Provide clear and commercially focused advice
Lead matters
Appear in courts and tribunals
Build strong client relationships

What we're looking for

Admitted to practice in New Zealand

Eight or more years post qualification experience

Strong background in general litigation

Excellent drafting skills

Excellent advocacy skills

Excellent analytical skills

Sound judgement

Practical approach to resolving complex disputes

Ability to work independently

Ability to contribute to a collaborative team environment

Ability to build trusted relationships with clients and colleagues

Ability to communicate complex issues clearly

High level of attention to detail

Motivated to take ownership of matters

Motivated to contribute to business development

Motivated to continue growing expertise within a leading litigation practice
