The role

Russell McVeagh seeks a 2027 Law Clerk to join their Tax team in Auckland. This role is for a student in their final year of a law degree, providing specialised tax advice and supporting partners on significant commercial transactions.

What you'll do

• Provide specialised tax advice on all types of direct and indirect tax
• Work closely with Tax partners on significant New Zealand commercial transactions
• Advise on the tax implications of financing and capital raising transactions
• Advise on the tax implications of mergers and acquisitions
• Advise on the tax implications of business establishment and reorganisations
• Advise on the tax implications of investment products
• Advise on the tax implications of employee remuneration packages
• Advise on the tax implications of customs and excise
• Advise on the tax implications of transfer pricing
• Advise on the tax implications of tax disputes
