The role

Eversheds Sutherland is seeking an Associate with 2-6 years of PQE to join their Finance and Regulatory practice in London. This role will focus on advising clients on consumer credit, payments, and related regulatory matters.

What you'll do

Draft and provide advice on the Consumer Credit Act and associated Regulations
Advise on UK payment services and e-money regimes
Advise on FCA handbook requirements including CONC, BCOBS, MCOB and the new consumer duty
Advise on all aspects of retail consumer credit and payments products
Advise on regulatory change and assist clients with implementation
Advise on regulated activities and the perimeter of FSMA
Assist with authorisations applications in payments and e-money sectors
Undertake due diligence as part of corporate support transactions
Assist and support other Eversheds Teams on credit and payments related queries
Prepare and present training to clients

What we're looking for

2-6 years PQE

Deep Financial Services sector knowledge

Good judgment and ability to understand risk

Ability to deliver high-quality legal advice with practical implementation

Ability to establish trust and confidence with clients

Ability to develop an internal network of stakeholders

Experience in business development and seeking new client relationships

Ability to influence colleagues and clients

Self-aware and adaptable style

Creative problem-solving skills

Skilled at scoping and pricing work accurately

Experience at Senior Associate level involving coaching, supervising, and mentoring junior colleagues· nice to have
