In-house Barrister at Irwin Mitchell

The role

Irwin Mitchell is seeking an In-house Barrister to join their Office of General Counsel. This role is for qualified Barristers or Solicitors with higher rights of audience who have demonstrable technical experience in Medical Negligence and/or Personal Injury law.

What you'll do

Provide advocacy services across legal teams
Work closely with colleagues across the business to ensure the very best service is provided in meeting client’s needs
Provide services to clients in the most efficient and effective way
Undertake drafting and advisory work
Undertake advocacy both remotely and in person
Handle a diverse and challenging caseload
Engage in regular courtroom advocacy

What we're looking for

Qualified Barrister or Solicitor with higher rights of audience accreditation

Demonstrable technical experience in either Medical Negligence and/or Personal Injury law, with a strong track record of handling complex multi-track and high-value cases

The ability to undertake drafting, advisory and conference work

Demonstrable experience performing advocacy work for either claimants or defendants

The ability to work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues to deliver the best outcomes for our case handlers

Excellent communication skills
