Construction Senior Associate

The role

Irwin Mitchell is seeking a Construction Senior Associate for their Construction practice area in London. This role is for experienced lawyers with 5+ years of PQE, focusing on contentious construction and engineering matters and advising clients on major projects.

What you'll do

• Advise clients on a very broad range of contentious construction and engineering matters
• Provide clients with pragmatic, commercial dispute avoidance advice and strategies designed to manage and minimise risk
• Support clients through negotiations, mediations and other non-adversarial forms of alternative dispute resolution
• Advise on disputes involving delays, disruptions, defects, payment issues, professional negligence and contractor or consultant claims
• Lead or assist with adjudications, litigation, domestic and international arbitrations and other forms of dispute resolution
• Work directly with clients, technical experts and colleagues to deliver joined-up advice
• Take an active role in business development activity and help build long-term relationships with developers, contractors, consultants, funders and occupiers
• Mentor and support junior lawyers within the team, helping them to develop their technical skills and confidence
