Associate (2-5 PQE) - Catastrophic Injury/Large Loss

The role

Clyde & Co is seeking an Associate with 2-5 PQE to join its Insurance practice group in Manchester. This role focuses on Catastrophic Injury/Large Loss matters, assisting on a variety of high-value cases including motor, EL/PL, and indemnity claims.

What you'll do

• Assist on a varied caseload of motor, EL/PL and indemnity large loss cases
• Carry out investigations with live defenders and taking witness statements
• Review and interpret medical records and medical reports
• Identify information requirements and securing required documentation/evidence from claimant representatives
• Adhere to reporting and reserving requirements in relation to different client SLAs
• Manage files including initial reports, updating reports and correspondence
• Attend and appear at court and pre-trial meetings
• Adhere to court timetables
• Support the Partners in servicing existing clients, growing new business and maintaining relationships with clients using technical excellence and innovation
• Draft all legal documents and client advice
• Deal with interlocutory proceedings, CMCs and client meetings
• Support marketing and business development activity with the team and the wider Clyde & Co casualty group
• Delegate complex aspects of a case to develop client contact and relationships
• Lead on lower value, large loss cases of your own
• Mentor and support the NQ in the team and junior members of the wider team
• Complete your own advocacy
