The role

Mallesons is seeking a Senior Associate for their Employment practice in Brisbane. This role focuses on employee relations and safety matters, supporting highly regarded specialists in employment law and industrial relations.

What you'll do

Provide strategic advice to clients across various sectors
Engage with prominent clients on matters ranging from enterprise bargaining and workplace change to dispute resolution and compliance issues
Contribute to team discussions

What we're looking for

A minimum of 6 months’ experience as a Senior Associate

A strong background in employment law and industrial relations

Excellent analytical and research skills to navigate and apply employment and industrial relations laws and regulations

Strong communication skills to provide timely, commercially-focused advice

A commitment to client service and the ability to build and maintain robust client relationships

A collaborative team spirit

A willingness to embrace new technologies, including AI-enabled legal tools

Experience in disputes and industrial relations matters in the Fair Work Commission, federal and state tribunals and the Courts· nice to have

Advising on enterprise bargaining processes and managing industrial action, including multi-site campaigns· nice to have

General employment law issues including unfair dismissal, general protections, post-employment restrictions, executive terminations and complex investigations· nice to have

Strategic workforce planning and structuring, particularly in relation to major projects and transactions· nice to have
