The role

Baker Botts is seeking a Mid-Level Real Estate Associate with 3-5 years of experience to join their Dallas or Houston office. This role focuses on sophisticated commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, development, financings, leasing, and joint ventures, serving institutional investors, developers, lenders, and corporate clients.

What you'll do

Work on sophisticated commercial real estate transactions
Handle all aspects of commercial real estate transactions including structuring, negotiation, closing, and ongoing operations
Represent landlords and tenants in build-to-suit, headquarters, and other major leases
Work on complex joint ventures involving institutional capital
Work on capital-intensive development and financing projects

What we're looking for

3-5 years of experience in sophisticated commercial real estate transactions

Experience with acquisitions, dispositions, development, financings, refinancings, leasing, and joint ventures

Experience across various asset classes, including energy and data center-related transactions

Strong academic background

Ability to take on significant responsibility

Strong interpersonal skills

Strong organizational skills

Strong project-management skills

Detail-oriented

Capable of managing multiple workstreams independently

Capable of collaborating effectively with a team

Capable of leading a team

Experience preferably in a large law firm· nice to have
