The role
Pinsent Masons is seeking a Senior Client Contracts Lawyer for their Office of General Counsel and Technology practice in Birmingham or Manchester. This role requires 3+ years of PQE and focuses on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating client-facing contracts, particularly in technology and AI.
What you'll do
- Review, draft and negotiate a broad range of client-facing contracts, including complex commercial, technology and AI-related arrangements
- Provide clear, commercially grounded legal advice to internal stakeholders
- Ensure contractual arrangements meet regulatory, legal and internal policy requirements
- Identify and mitigate legal and commercial risks, collaborating with colleagues across the GCO and wider firm
- Escalate matters appropriately in line with internal governance processes
- Support ad hoc projects across the GCO, including process improvements and policy development
- Champion efficiency through legal technology and contract-management tools
- Spot opportunities to streamline contracting processes and embed best practice
- Play a key role in enhancing the firm’s client engagement and commercial strategy
What we're looking for
Qualification as a solicitor
3+ PQE (all suitable experience considered)
People Management experience
Experience reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts
Sharp analytical skills and the ability to deliver practical, accessible advice
Confidence operating in unfamiliar or complex subject areas
Strong organisation and time-management
Sound judgment, resilience and a calm, professional approach under pressure
Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills
A collaborative mindset
Confidence to work autonomously when needed
An interest in legal technology and improving contract processes
In-house law firm experience is desirable· nice to have
