The role

Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer is seeking a Solicitor with 3+ years of PQE to join its leading Trade Marks team in Melbourne or Sydney. This role focuses on assisting national and international clients with trade mark prosecution, portfolio management, and IP advice, working closely with senior IP partners.

What you'll do

Undertake a range of work that supports national and international clients including Australian and international trade mark filing and prosecution
Manage trade mark portfolios
Provide rebranding and clearance advice
Draft and negotiate consents and co-existence agreements
Advise on intellectual property aspects of due diligence
Provide support on trade mark and domain name disputes

What we're looking for

3+ years of demonstrable experience across trade mark prosecutions from a leading national or international private practice, or an in-house environment

Admission as a Lawyer in Australia or New Zealand

An excellent academic record coupled with strong legal skills and a practical mindset

A proactive approach and desire to be an integral member of our leading and supportive team

An ability to work to tight timeframes, collaboratively and at times autonomously

Excellent communication skills and ability to demonstrate collegiality within a team

Have a hunger to learn and develop, and be part of maintaining a market-leading practice

An innovative mindset, curious about AI and emerging technologies
