The role
Sidley Austin LLP is seeking an Associate with 3+ years of experience to join its Derivatives practice group in New York. This role will focus on transactional and regulatory matters concerning derivatives and related trading relationships.
What we're looking for
Approximately 3+ years of relevant experience at a law firm, financial institution, asset manager or other sophisticated market participant
Negotiating ISDA Master Agreements, Credit Support Annexes and other derivatives documentation
Experience with prime brokerage, repurchase, securities lending, futures, clearing, custody or related trading arrangements
Structuring and documenting equity, credit, interest rate, foreign exchange, commodity or other derivatives transactions, including bespoke hedging and risk transfer transactions
Advising on derivatives regulatory matters, including Dodd-Frank, CFTC requirements and margin rules
Strong academic credentials
Excellent drafting and analytical skills
Sound judgment
An interest in developing a broad derivatives and financial markets practice
Experience representing investment managers, private funds, corporate end users or other buy-side market participants· nice to have
Significant dealer-side or in-house derivatives experience· nice to have
New York Bar admission or eligibility for admission· nice to have
