Senior Associate - National PI at Clyde & Co

The role

Clyde & Co is seeking a Senior Associate for its National Professional Indemnity team in Manchester. This role is for an experienced lawyer with 3+ years of PQE, focusing on defence of civil liability claims, regulatory matters, and coverage issues within the professional and financial liability space.

What you'll do

Manage a diverse caseload involving claims against professionals such as solicitors, accountants, financial advisers, construction consultants, brokers, and other regulated practitioners
Handle complex, multi-party disputes—both litigated and pre-action
Handle policy coverage issues
Handle advisory work for major insurers, Lloyd’s syndicates, and corporate clients
Run files independently
Contribute to larger, strategically important matters under partner guidance

What we're looking for

Minimum of 3 PQE

Previous experience acting on a range of coverage disputes and advisory matters in the financial, professional and management lines space

Strong knowledge of the FCA-regulated space and FOS procedure with previous experience working on financial lines and coverage matters

Intellectual versatility and a breath of experience across various coverage and liability matters

Excellent technical legal skills including drafting and strategy management, as well as managing and prioritising a full and varied caseload and supporting in practice management

Connections with clients in the insurance market and have started building a profile and network of contacts and potential clients

Excellent team player

Practicing certificate as required by the Solicitors Act 1974

Successful completion of a Training Contract (or equivalent) and relevant education (Legal Practice Course; Graduate Diploma in Law (if non Law Graduate))
