Consulting lawyer - Derivatives and Structured Finance - Singapore at A&O Shearman

The role

A&O Shearman is seeking a Consulting Lawyer with 4+ years of experience in Derivatives and Structured Finance for their Singapore office. This role focuses on providing expertise in complex financial transactions and regulatory matters.

What you'll do

Undertake OTC transactional and advisory work
Engage in securitisations (synthetic and cash)
Advise on regulatory developments
Handle structured equity financing/corporate equity derivatives
Manage structured credit transactions
Work on structured commodities
Step into a team to support a project
Take on a senior manager role working on major transactions or regulatory change projects or implementation
Work within A&O Shearman on an ad-hoc basis, supporting teams when needed or joining them for fixed periods to work on a deal

What we're looking for

A right to work and reside in Singapore

Qualification to practice in at least one of England & Wales, the United States, Hong Kong, Singapore or Australia

A minimum of four years' post-qualification experience at a top tier law firm in this field

Strong technical knowledge and experience in derivatives and structured finance

Ideally with some Asian experience

Self-starter with a commitment to building a career as a consultant and a drive to achieve at a high level

Adept at leading or working within complex multi-functional, multi-national project environments

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface at all levels, building strong relationships internally and externally

Client service-focused, with exemplary client service ethic and commitment

Strong commercial/business acumen

Resilient, adaptable, autonomous and highly credible

Advanced organisational skills and diplomacy
