The role
A&O Shearman is seeking a Consulting Lawyer with 3+ years of PQE to join their Banking and Finance practice in Singapore. This role is for a self-driven lawyer with top-tier technical experience in areas such as general lending, Asian syndicated loan markets, and leverage finance.
What you'll do
- Support a project by stepping into a team
- Take on a senior manager role working on major transactions or regulatory change projects or implementation
- Work within A&O Shearman on an ad-hoc basis, supporting teams when needed
- Join A&O Shearman teams for fixed periods to work on a deal
What we're looking for
A right to work and reside in Singapore
Qualification to practice in at least one of England & Wales, the United States, Hong Kong, Singapore or Australia
A minimum of three years' post-qualification experience at a top tier law firm in this field
Strong technical knowledge and experience in Asian markets
Self-starter with a commitment to building a career as a consultant and a drive to achieve at a high level whilst working as a consultant
Adept at leading or working within complex multi-functional, multi-national project environments
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface at all levels, building strong relationships internally and externally
Client service-focused, with exemplary client service ethic and commitment
Strong commercial/business acumen
Resilient, adaptable, autonomous and highly credible
Advanced organisational skills and diplomacy
In-house legal experience at leading financial services institutions/corporates preferred (directly or as a secondee)· nice to have
