The role
Simmons & Simmons is seeking an Interim Funds Lawyer with 6+ years of PQE to join its Adaptive resourcing model in Hong Kong. This role will primarily support legal workstreams related to a large-scale merger, integration, and business transformation initiative, advising on legal risks and drafting/reviewing documentation.
What you'll do
- Support legal workstreams relating to a large-scale merger, integration, and business transformation initiative
- Advise stakeholders on legal risks and issues arising throughout the transaction and integration process
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial and investment management documentation
- Provide legal support on Retail and investment funds matters, Investment Management Agreements (IMAs), Distribution Agreements (DAs), Advisory agreements and related asset management documentation
- Partner closely with business, compliance, risk, and operational stakeholders across the region
- Assist with regulatory and governance matters arising from business integration activities
- Manage external counsel where required
What we're looking for
Qualified lawyer with approximately 6+ years' PQE
Experience gained in-house or in private practice, ideally within asset management, investment funds, or financial services
Exposure to the Hong Kong asset management regulatory environment
Experience supporting regional matters, including Singapore, would be advantageous
Candidates with M&A or corporate transaction experience, particularly post-merger integration experience, are also of interest
