The role

This is a Summer Vacation Scheme role in Hong Kong at A&O Shearman for 2027. It is designed for penultimate- and final-year law students, and final-year non-law students, to gain practical experience and develop skills at a leading international commercial law firm.

What we're looking for

Penultimate- or final-year law student, or final-year non-law student

University student in Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand or other common law jurisdictions

On track for at least a 2:1 or equivalent in law degree or JD

Eligible for a 2029 training contract start date

Completion of Postgraduate Certificate in Laws (PCLL) course in Hong Kong

Completion of PCLL conversion exams if law degree or JD is from an overseas university

Open-minded

Spoken Mandarin and Cantonese· nice to have

Ability to read and write either simplified or traditional Chinese· nice to have
