Senior Associate - Employment at Mills & Reeve

The role

Mills & Reeve is seeking a Senior Associate in Employment for their Birmingham office. This role is for an experienced employment lawyer with 5+ years of PQE, focusing on a broad mix of contentious and non-contentious employment matters for a diverse client base.

What you'll do

Advise a diverse client base across the commercial, higher education, health, sports and charitable sectors
Undertake a broad mix of contentious and non-contentious employment work
Provide commercially focused advice and support to clients on a wide range of employment law matters
Play an active role in delivering the annual programme of client training, seminars and legal updates
Work closely with partners Kate Watkins, Richard Barker and Richard Santy, as well as the wider Birmingham employment team
Collaborate, share knowledge and engage in professional development opportunities

What we're looking for

At least 5 years' experience as an employment lawyer

Gained experience in a reputable law firm acting for employers, or through inhouse experience

Ability to deliver exceptional service and commercially focused advice

Demonstrate excellent technical knowledge of employment law

Deliver high-quality, practical and commercially aware advice

Undertake advocacy at Preliminary Hearings where appropriate

Deliver employment law training to clients and prospective clients

Contribute to business development activities and support growth initiatives

Understand clients' legal, commercial and operational objectives

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues· nice to have
