Associate (2-5 PQE) - Belfast

The role

Clyde & Co is seeking an Associate with 2-5 years of PQE to join their defence insurance litigation team in Belfast. This role involves managing a caseload of insurance claims, including motor, disease, and public liability, and acting on behalf of insurance companies and commercial organisations.

What you'll do

• Work with all members of the team and be exposed to a variety of work
• Act on behalf of a range of insurance companies and self-insured commercial organisations
• Assist and handle a varied caseload
• Appear regularly in the Court
• Carry out investigations with policyholders
• Take witness statements
• Review and interpret medical records and medical reports
• Identify information requirements and secure required documentation/evidence from Plaintiff's representatives
• Adhere to reporting and reserving requirements in relation to different client SLAs
• Manage files, including initial reports, updating reports and correspondence
• Attend and appear at court and pre-trial meetings
• Adhere to court timetables
• Support the Partners in servicing existing clients, growing new business and maintaining relationships with clients
• Draft all legal documents and client advice
• Deal with interlocutory proceedings, Court Reviews and client meetings
• Support marketing and business development activity with the team and the wider Clyde & Co casualty group
