Of Counsel - Litigation (Product Liability) at DLA Piper

The role

DLA Piper is seeking an Of Counsel with 8+ years of experience to join its Litigation group, focusing on pharmaceutical/medical device Daubert/Rule 702 motions practice. This role requires strong legal writing skills and is open to candidates in any of the firm's U.S. offices.

What you'll do

Reviewing and drafting discovery responses, briefs, motions, and memoranda
Communicating with clients
Supervising associates
Working with experts
Assisting with fact development and depositions
Helping develop case strategy

What we're looking for

JD from nationally recognized schools with strong academic credentials

Admitted to practice in the jurisdiction in which you are applying

Candidates licensed to practice law in New York are encouraged to apply

Must have a science background (MD, MPH, PharmD, Epidemiology)

8+ years of experience

Extensive experience writing briefs, including specifically Rule 702 of the Federal Rules of Evidence and Daubert issues

Experience with products liability litigation

Strong analytical and writing skills

Attention to detail

Good business judgment

Experience preferably gained while practicing at an AmLaw 100 firm· nice to have
