The role
Maddocks is seeking a Senior Associate / Special Counsel for their Public Law team in Melbourne. This role is for a lawyer with 6+ years of experience focusing on compulsory acquisitions and related matters.
What you'll do
- Provide advice and conduct disputes for clients in both government and the private sector
- Focus on compulsory acquisition, compensation, planning matters, land valuation and local government rating
- Supervise and mentor junior lawyers
What we're looking for
6+ years of experience in private practice/government
Experience in the supervision of junior lawyers
Strong drafting skills
Excellent communication skills
Collegiate approach
Proactive and driven nature
Exposure to or experience in compulsory acquisition/compensation, valuation and/or planning and environment law· nice to have
Disputes experience at VCAT and/or the Supreme Court· nice to have
