Senior Associate, Real Estate

The role

Lander & Rogers is seeking a Senior Associate in their Real Estate practice group in Sydney, Australia. This role is for an experienced lawyer with 6+ years of PQE who will work on high-end, complex real estate matters, including major transactions and developments.

What you'll do

• Manage end to end file of appropriate real estate and project transactional matters
• Handle the real estate aspects of major projects, such as linear infrastructure projects
• Handle sales and purchases of land across all land asset classes
• Handle property and project development and delivery matters
• Handle complex agreement for lease and/or lease transactions
• Handle simple lease transactions
• Undertake asset management work associated with client lease portfolios
• Handle land subdivisions, consolidations, easements and covenants
• Advise clients on an appropriate structure for their transaction
• Draft documents or review documents prepared by other firms
• Advise clients on documents and amending and negotiating them as required
• Liaise with clients, counterparties' lawyer, internal stakeholders and other practice groups
• Use appropriate internal technological solutions
• Work in teams on due diligence and drafting due diligence reports for large real estate acquisitions or the real estate aspects of merger and acquisition transactions
• Work with lawyers from the construction and environment and planning sub-teams to support those teams with the real estate aspects of their matters
• Undertake legal research
• Draft formal advices to clients by email, by memorandum or by letter
• Attend to registration of documents and general land titles enquiries
• Work in partnership with senior practitioners and other team members
• Assist graduates and seasonal clerks throughout their rotations
• Build client relationships at a corresponding level
• Attend internal and external training and development sessions
• Assist senior practitioners to prepare responses to requests from clients for a fee proposal or a capability statement
• Assist senior practitioners to prepare and present internal continuing legal education presentations
• Assist senior practitioners to prepare external presentations
