Financial Services Regulatory: 5+ years at Cooley

The role

Cooley is seeking a Financial Services Regulatory associate or special counsel with 5+ years of experience in Miami. The role focuses on advising clients in the fintech, payments, cryptocurrency, and digital assets sectors, particularly on technology and commercial transactions at the intersection of innovation and regulation.

What you'll do

Advise clients in the fintech, payments, cryptocurrency and/or digital assets sectors
Draft and negotiate complex technology and commercial agreements
Structure and launch innovative products and commercial relationships at the intersection of technology and financial services regulation

What we're looking for

At least five years of experience with sophisticated technology and commercial transactions

Particular experience advising clients in the fintech, payments, cryptocurrency and/or digital assets sectors

Experience drafting and negotiating complex technology and commercial agreements, including technology licensing, SaaS and cloud services agreements, strategic partnerships and other commercial arrangements

Experience with transactions involving fintech and digital asset products and platforms

Comfortable working with regulatory and corporate lawyers to help clients structure and launch innovative products and commercial relationships at the intersection of technology and financial services regulation

Strong academic credentials

Excellent drafting and negotiation skills

Sound commercial judgment

Ability to independently manage sophisticated matters and client relationships

Experience at a nationally recognized law firm with a technology transactions, fintech and/or digital assets practice is preferred

Experience with bank-fintech partnerships, payments, blockchain, cryptocurrency, stablecoins, tokenization, custody or related infrastructure is particularly desirable· nice to have
