Associate - Court of Protection at Irwin Mitchell

The role

Irwin Mitchell is seeking an Associate with 4-8 years of PQE to join their Court of Protection team. This role, based in Bristol/Southampton, focuses on managing the financial affairs and property of individuals who lack the mental capacity to do so themselves, working within the Pro Bono and Public Sector practice areas.

What you'll do

Manage multi-million-pound settlements via Deputyships and Trusts
Chair annual review meetings
Oversee property transactions and care arrangements
Prepare statutory will applications
Run own caseload of property and affairs matters
Support the Deputy in delivering high-quality, client-centred services
Collaborate with solicitors and paralegals to ensure seamless support
Contribute to business development and client engagement initiatives
Convert warm leads into new matters

What we're looking for

4-8 years PQE

Strong understanding of Court of Protection procedures and related litigation

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to manage complex caseloads with care and precision

Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team

Experience working with clients affected by serious injury or illness· nice to have

Private client experience· nice to have
