Legal Director - Private Wealth & Tax

The role

Mishcon de Reya is seeking a Legal Director with 7+ years of PQE in UK personal tax to join their Tier 1 Private Wealth & Tax team in London. This role will provide high-quality technical support and independent judgement to a Partner, assisting with a broad caseload of complex, cross-border personal tax and estate planning matters for high-profile individuals and families.

What you'll do

• Work closely with Patrick across a broad caseload of UK personal tax, trust and estate planning matters
• Provide high-quality technical support and independent judgement
• Advise on UK tax planning for formerly non-domiciled and internationally mobile clients
• Advise on the taxation of private placement life insurance, offshore trusts and companies and legacy remittance basis positions
• Support cross-border estate planning for UHNW individuals, families and family offices
• Coordinate with advisers in other jurisdictions as needed
• Help manage the smooth day-to-day running of the practice
• Manage workflow, resourcing, billing oversight and client service standards
• Support business development activity
• Manage client relationships
• Assist with proposals and thought leadership initiatives
• Contribute to profile-building initiatives
• Supervise and mentor junior lawyers working on shared matters
• Contribute to the technical development of junior lawyers
• Take on personal supervision of an allocated portfolio of matters
