The role
Mills Oakley is seeking a Lawyer with 1-2 years of PQE to join their Insurance team in Sydney. This role focuses on Public Liability and Professional Indemnity litigation matters, working alongside partners Michael Down and Nikki Cassar.
What you'll do
- Manage smaller matters with minimal supervision
- Manage files including meeting deadlines and managing documents
- Review evidence and prepare advices on indemnity, liability and quantum
- Communicate with clients both in writing and verbally
- Identify issues, brief experts and analyse opinion
- Prepare court documents, including statements of evidence
- Draft correspondence and communicate with other practitioners
- Prepare for, manage online processes and appear in court
- Brief and liaise with counsel
What we're looking for
1-2 years PQE
Demonstrated experience in litigation
A professional approach with a client service focus
The ability to prioritise tasks and operate in a fast-paced environment
A strong academic record from a well-respected university
Ideally from a defendant firm· nice to have
