Employment Lawyer - 4-6 yrs pqe

The role

Baker McKenzie is seeking an experienced Employment Lawyer with 4-6 years PQE to join their market-leading Employment Practice in Belfast. This role will involve working with the London team and clients globally on a wide range of domestic and international employment law matters, including transactions, redundancy, multi-jurisdictional projects, litigation, and investigations.

What you'll do

• Advise on diligence reviews and prepare diligence reports
• Coordinate multi-jurisdictional disclosure schedules
• Advise on global business carve outs in advance of sales and post-acquisition integrations
• Advise on when TUPE applies and relevant consequences
• Advise on TUPE information and consultation requirements
• Draft and negotiate relevant provisions in core transactional documentation and advise on other associated transactional matters
• Advise on when a redundancy situation arises and requirements of individual and collective redundancy procedures
• Advise on domestic issues such as pooling and the application of appropriate selection criteria
• Be part of a team working on global or multi-jurisdictional projects, such as restructuring exercises, global policy or contract reviews, pay equity reviews and other compliance projects
• Coordinate and review global advice to prepare centralised advice to clients
• Work on Employment Tribunal claims, including unfair dismissal, discrimination, whistleblowing and equal pay claims
• Manage and conduct disclosure exercises
• Prepare ET3 forms, Grounds of Resistance and witness statements
• Advise on and negotiate settlements
• Advise on the enforceability of restrictive covenants
• Conduct fact finding investigations into employee allegations, including grievances and whistleblowing allegations
• Advise on investigation procedures including scoping
• Prepare data privacy notices
• Advise on applicable search terms in response to data subject access requests
• Review and redact documents as required
