The role

Byrne Wallace Shields is seeking a Senior Associate for its top-ranked Employment team in Dublin, Ireland. This role is for an experienced lawyer with 5+ years of PQE in both contentious and non-contentious employment law, focusing on advisory, litigation, and transactional support.

What you'll do

Manage a varied employment law caseload covering both contentious and non-contentious matters
Represent clients before the Workplace Relations Commission, Labour Court, and the courts
Provide practical and commercially focused advice on a wide range of employment law issues
Maintain and develop public and private sector client relationships
Advise on dispute resolution strategies and, where appropriate, participate in mediations and arbitrations
Train clients across areas of employment law

What we're looking for

Minimum of 5 years' experience in contentious and non-contentious employment law

Experience advising on complex and technical employment and equality law matters

Proven employment law and related litigation experience, including representation before employment and industrial relations fora and courts

Commercial awareness and a commitment to understanding clients' organisations

Business development capability

Ability to interpret legislation and provide practical advice

Excellent drafting skills

Strong fees and cost management proficiency

Effective communication skills at all levels

High motivation, initiative, and the ability to work independently

Strong organisational and time management skills

Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
