The role
Latham & Watkins is seeking a corporate associate with 4+ years of experience in privacy and cybersecurity transactional matters to join its highly ranked, interdisciplinary Privacy and Cyber practice group. This role will focus on advising clients on complex data privacy, cybersecurity, and AI issues within the Austin, Houston, or San Francisco offices.
What we're looking for
Minimum of four years of privacy experience
Mix of experience with product counseling, commercial contracts, and corporate transactional work in relation to data privacy, cybersecurity, and AI issues
Experience counselling clients on compliance with privacy, cyber, and AI laws
Experience negotiating privacy, cyber, and AI components of commercial agreements
Experience handling privacy, security, and AI components of corporate transactions (including M&A deals, IPOs)
Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
Superior verbal and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
Ability to proactively lead on driving matters forward with minimal supervision
Aptitude for technology
Understanding of how online and AI technologies work
CIPP certification· nice to have
