Construction Lawyer – Front End at Jackson McDonald

The role

Jackson McDonald is seeking a Construction Lawyer with 4+ years of PQE for its Perth office. This front-end focused role will involve drafting and negotiating contracts, advising on procurement, and handling contentious matters within the firm's large Construction team.

What you'll do

Drafting and negotiating construction contracts
Advising on procurement strategies
Providing commercially focused advice to clients
Develop contentious construction experience
Working on disputes and adjudications
Build strong client relationships
Contribute to the growth of the practice
Collaborate with practitioners from Jackson McDonald’s WHS, insurance and commercial teams

What we're looking for

A minimum of 4 years’ post-admission experience

Strong commercial law background

Proven experience in front-end construction law

Drafting and negotiating construction contracts

Some experience in contentious construction matters including disputes and/or adjudications

Excellent legal knowledge, technical ability and attention to detail

A sound understanding of the legal and commercial issues affecting construction and engineering projects in Western Australia

Strong commercial acumen and sound judgment

Confidence in dealing directly with clients and stakeholders

Good IT skills and the ability to work effectively with modern legal technology

Permitted to work in Australia on an unrestricted basis
