The role
Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld is seeking a Tax Associate with 3-4 years of transactional tax experience for their Dallas or Houston offices. This role focuses on advising clients on the tax implications of complex business transactions, investments, and restructurings.
What you'll do
- Advise clients on the tax implications of complex business transactions, investments, and restructurings
- Negotiate and draft tax-related provisions for a variety of transaction documents
- Research complex tax issues
- Structure the tax aspect of corporate and partnership transactions
What we're looking for
3-4 years of transactional tax experience
Experience with negotiating and drafting tax-related provisions for transaction documents
Experience researching complex tax issues
Experience structuring the tax aspect of corporate and partnership transactions
Transactional tax practice with experience in tax planning related to mergers and acquisitions, private equity, debt finance, bankruptcy/financial restructuring, special situations, and/or private credit
Stellar academic credentials
Large law firm or equivalent experience at a big four accounting firm
Must be available to work in person
