Senior Associate - Competition and Consumer - Brisbane

The role

HWLE Lawyers is seeking a Senior Associate with 5+ years of experience in Competition and Consumer law to join their Brisbane Corporate & Commercial practice group. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex matters for blue-chip clients under the guidance of the Competition partner, Simon Ellis.

What you'll do

• Manage complex competition issues in the transactional setting including merger filings, engaging with the ACCC; drafting key provisions in commercial agreements and engaging with clients
• Assess competition risks in the transactional setting and advise on strategies to commercially manage those risks
• Assist clients in response to regulatory notices
• Advise on potential risks under Part IV of the Competition and Consumer Act and advise on commercially practical strategies to mitigate client risk
• Work collaboratively with the broader corporate team to negotiate and prepare key commercial documents and agreements
• Work collaboratively with the disputes team in relation to competition or consumer disputes
• Develop client relationships and contribute to business development
• Mentor junior colleagues
