Senior Associate - Native Title at Maddocks

The role

Maddocks is seeking a Senior Associate with 5+ years of experience in Native Title and litigation to join their Public Law team in Sydney. This role involves acting for a range of clients, including Indigenous claimants, governments, and private sector entities, and offers opportunities for career advancement within a collaborative team environment.

What you'll do

Attend directions hearings and hearings
Brief Counsel and experts
Undertake Due Diligence
Conduct complex statutory interpretation and advice
Present and draft articles
Supervise lawyers in the day to day

What we're looking for

Approximately 5+ years post qualification experience

Experience in native title work

Excellent technical and drafting skills

An enquiring mind with sound judgement and a can-do attitude

A commitment to team work and achieving challenging objectives

Experience in litigation and alternative dispute resolution including appearances at tribunals and/or court

Strong academic qualifications

Legally permitted to work in Australia
