Senior Associate - Environment & Sustainable Development at Clayton Utz

The role

Clayton Utz is seeking a Senior Associate for its Environment & Sustainable Development practice in Sydney. This role is for an experienced lawyer with at least 6 years of PQE, focusing on a diverse range of environmental, planning, and sustainability matters for public and private sector clients.

What you'll do

Work on a diverse range of matters spanning strategic and policy advice, major projects and transactions, litigation and dispute resolution
Act for both public and private sector clients including Federal, State and local government agencies, ASX100 listed and multinational corporations
Play a lead role in challenging and rewarding work
Build your own brand and practice through dedicated mentorship, leadership development programs and career opportunities
Undertake client secondments as they arise
Mentor and guide junior team members

What we're looking for

Minimum 6 years PQE gained within a reputable commercial law firm

Demonstrated time spent in a senior associate capacity

Excellent academic results

Well-rounded experience in a reputable environment and planning practice

Demonstrated exposure across transactional, advisory and litigious P&E matters

Refined drafting skills with demonstrated attention to detail

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively with clients, consultants, counsel, and peers both internal and external

A proactive commitment to continuous professional development

Capability and willingness to mentor and guide junior team members
