Legal consultant (interim) – 5yrs + PQE - funds and investment - UAE

The role

A&O Shearman is seeking an interim Legal Consultant with 5+ years of PQE for their funds and investment practice in Dubai, UAE. This role is for a commercially astute and technically accomplished senior lawyer experienced in advising various entities on the structuring, establishment, and operation of investment funds.

What you'll do

• Advise on the establishment and structuring of various investment funds including private equity, debt, venture capital, real estate, and Shari'a compliant funds
• Advise on bespoke vehicles and co-investment arrangements
• Provide legal advice on international M&A, joint ventures, and multi-jurisdictional investment structures, particularly in emerging markets
• Manage relationships with institutional investors
• Lead negotiations on fund documentation and side letters
• Advise on fund regulatory regimes, marketing rules, distribution requirements, and ongoing compliance obligations across jurisdictions
• Provide broad legal support spanning fund formation, private equity, real estate, and global product distribution
