The role
DWF is seeking a Solicitor/Associate with 2+ years of PQE for their Insurance practice in Birmingham. This role focuses on Employer Liability (EL), Public Liability (PL), and Abuse claims, acting for leading UK insurers.
What you'll do
- Work with Partners to manage a caseload of Major Injury and Casualty claims including defendant Employer Liability (EL), Public Liability (PL), Abuse, Casualty, Disease, and Large Loss matters
- Draft pleadings, reports to clients, and attend court hearings
- Work to court deadlines and liability investigations
- Gather evidence
- Instruct experts
- Consider medical causation issues
- Prioritise work effectively and maximise efficiency in working practices
- Adhere to court deadlines and directions, as well as client service level agreements
- Build working relationships internally and externally to maintain client relationships
- Develop business networks and create a solid understanding of the Firm's direction and client needs
- Provide support and act as the 'go to person' for more junior members in the team
What we're looking for
2+ PQE
Defendant litigation experience in Employer Liability (EL), Public Liability (PL), Casualty, Disease, and Large Loss
Experience in abuse or industrial disease
Experience handling defendant Major Injury and Casualty files
Familiar with working in a commercial environment
Strong academics
