The role

Clyde & Co is seeking an Associate for its Bermuda Form team in London. This role is for an experienced lawyer with expertise in insurance and reinsurance law, focusing on complex coverage disputes and regulatory matters within the Bermuda market.

What you'll do

Advise international and domestic clients on complex insurance, reinsurance, and regulatory matters
Work closely with partners on high-value coverage disputes, transactional and corporate insurance work, and advisory mandates
Manage client relationships
Mentor junior lawyers
Contribute to the continued growth of the practice

What we're looking for

Strong technical expertise in insurance and reinsurance law

Proven experience advising on complex coverage, claims, and policy interpretation matters

Demonstrated knowledge of the Bermuda insurance and reinsurance market, including regulatory frameworks, market practices, and cross-border considerations

Solid experience handling litigation, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution in insurance/reinsurance disputes

Ability to manage and advise on large-scale, multi-jurisdictional matters and work seamlessly with international teams and clients

Proven track record in regulatory advisory work, including compliance with Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA) requirements and broader international regulations

Strong drafting and negotiation skills across policy wordings, coverage opinions, settlement agreements, and commercial contracts

Commercial acumen and ability to provide practical, business-oriented advice to insurers, reinsurers, and brokers

Leadership qualities with experience mentoring junior associates and contributing to team development

Excellent client relationship management skills with the ability to develop and maintain high-value client accounts
