Business Litigation Associate (Los Angeles) at Jenner & Block

The role

Jenner & Block is seeking a Business Litigation Associate with 2-5 years of PQE for its Los Angeles office. The role will focus on complex litigation matters within the firm's Business Litigation Primary Team.

What you'll do

Prepare for and attend depositions
Draft pleadings and motion briefings
Handle case management responsibilities including assigning and supervising others' work, planning for and hosting team meetings/trainings, and working on case budget and staffing
Meet and confer with opposing counsel
Work with experts on expert reports
Draft discovery requests and responses
Attend court hearings and conduct oral arguments
Conduct legal research
Perform document review
Maintain an active pro bono practice
Design document review plans and manage document review and training

What we're looking for

Juris Doctor (JD) degree

2-5 years of experience as an attorney in complex litigation and business disputes

Demonstrated experience in all aspects of discovery

Demonstrated experience drafting pleadings such as complaints and answers

Demonstrated experience drafting and arguing substantive motions in both federal and state courts

Demonstrated case management experience

Detail-oriented, independent self-starter with excellent written and oral communication skills

Strong academic credentials

Strong commitment to pro bono representation

Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment

Membership in the California bar

Benefits

Starting base salary is expected to be $235,000 – $365,000 annually
