Trade Mark Attorney (2+ PQE)

The role

Wedlake Bell is seeking a Trade Mark Attorney with 2+ years of PQE to join its IP practice in London. This newly created role will manage a diverse trade mark portfolio and engage in transactional, advisory, and contentious matters within a growing team.

What you'll do

• Manage a varied portfolio of trade mark matters, from initial creation stages, through to protection and enforcement, and all stages in-between including searches, filings, oppositions, and enforcement actions
• Monitor and report internal and external deadlines
• Advise clients on trade mark strategy, portfolio management, and brand protection
• Conduct trade mark clearance searches and provide risk assessments
• Draft and file trade mark applications, oppositions, and other related documents
• Liaise with foreign associates and manage international trade mark portfolios
• Draft co-existence and settlement agreements
• Assist with contentious and non-contentious trade mark disputes in the UK and other overseas trade mark offices
• Draft domain name and company names complaints
• Supervise and organise administrative team to ensure records are accurate
• Support the development of the trade mark practice through business development activities
• Keep up to date with developments in trade mark law and practice
