The role

McDermott Will & Schulte is seeking an Associate with 2-5 years of experience to join their Technology & Outsourcing practice group. This role will focus on complex commercial transactions within the cryptocurrency and technology sectors, and is open to candidates in Dallas, Chicago, Los Angeles, or New York.

What you'll do

Lead complex commercial transactions focusing on blockchain/crypto matters

What we're looking for

2-5 years of experience in technology transactions and commercial contracting

Experience with blockchain/crypto

Strong knowledge of commercial issues, IP, and risk issues in crypto and tech deals

Some regulatory crypto experience is helpful

Must be barred in the jurisdiction where you will practice

Positive client-service attitude

Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment

Excellent contract drafting skills

Comfort using AI legal tools

Detail oriented, with excellent organizational skills

Exercises good judgment

Demonstrated record of excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to be flexible and adapt

Ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of information

Ability to issue spot and summarize key points succinctly

M&A experience in the crypto space is a plus· nice to have

Experience preferably at a law firm· nice to have
