The role
DLA Piper's Investment Funds Group is seeking an attorney with 3-6 years of experience for a professional track position in Austin, San Francisco, or Washington D.C. The role focuses on fund formation, commercial real estate, real estate finance, and joint ventures.
What you'll do
- Draft and negotiate fund organizational documents
- Draft and negotiate investor side letters
- Draft and negotiate purchase agreements
- Draft and negotiate sale agreements
- Draft and negotiate leasing agreements
- Draft and negotiate financing agreements
- Draft and negotiate joint venture agreements
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and external audiences
- Produce high-quality work
- Respond to correspondence in an efficient, timely, and professional manner
- Meet deadlines
- Manage competing priorities
- Commit to meeting high standards
- Comply with firm policies and procedures
- Maintain confidences as required in a law firm environment
What we're looking for
3-6 years of experience in fund formation, commercial real estate, real estate finance, and/or joint ventures
Experience drafting and negotiating fund organizational documents and investor side letters
Experience with various commercial real estate transactions documents such as purchase, sale, leasing, financing, and joint venture agreements
Strong analytical and writing skills
Attention to detail
Good business judgment
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to work collaboratively and independently
JD degree
Admitted to practice in the state in which they are officing
Experience with secondaries transactions· nice to have
Direct and applicable AmLaw 100 law firm experience preferred· nice to have
